- "Tất cả nằm trong tay cô. Hãy tiêu diệt Sin và cứu Spira."
A Summoner, Belgemine confronted Sin and, failing to defeat it, died some time before the events of the game, but stayed as an Unsent in Spira to help summoners grow stronger in their own quests to defeat Sin. She makes Remiem Temple her home.
Yuna's party first meets Belgemine on the Mi'ihen Highroad, where Belgemine invites Yuna to compete in a contest of Aeons. She uses Ifrit at this time, forcing Yuna to use Valefor. She reappears periodically in various places throughout Spira, again offering a new challenge. Should Yuna win her challenge, Belgemine will grant the player several pieces of equipment and spheres. However, the player will still receive items even if Yuna lost to Belgemine, though they will be inferior.
Later, should Tidus rent and ride a Chocobo, the party can travel to Remiem Temple via the Chocobo feather in Calm Lands. In the temple, Belgemine reveals her nature as an unsent, but tells Yuna not to send her yet, as she sees Yuna to be a potential High Summoner, and thus training her, hoping that she will defeat Sin.
Should the player unlock and challenge all of Belgemine's Aeons, Yuna will be given the option whether to send Belgemine or not. Belgemine was joyed to see Yuna's summoning skills surpassing hers, and encourages Yuna to destroy Sin and save Spira in her last words. Sending her will reward the player with the Moon Sigil for Yuna's Nirvana.
Belgemine is unseen and unmentioned in Final Fantasy X-2.
In the English localization, Belgemine is pronounced [ˌbɛɫ.ɡəˈmiː.neɪ].
